Diana Haven, CEO of Ellipses PR

Diana Haven

Founder and CEO

Diana Haven bridges the worlds of cutting-edge technology and luxury hospitality with a unique perspective that has shaped Ellipses PR into an integrated communications and marketing agency delivering exceptional results for over 100 clients. Named PR Woman of the Year by PRSA-San Francisco in 2023, Diana’s integrated approach to communications consistently drives awareness, buzz, and bottom-line profit.

Tech Roots & Early Career

Long before “digital native” was a common term, Diana was the tech-savvy kid in her family, configuring new computers, connecting video equipment, and creating custom party banners on the family Mac. This natural affinity for technology evolved into a professional passion as she guided PR strategies for pioneering “dot-com boom” era clients including David Bowie’s groundbreaking ISP BowieNet, AskJeeves, and Kana’s innovative email management solutions.

As a senior booking manager and guest producer for cable channel TechTV from 1999-2002, Diana secured interviews with more than 1,600 technology leaders, CEOs, celebrities, and cultural icons across six different global television shows. Her influence in tech media earned her recognition as the 13th most influential broadcast journalist in technology by Marketing Computers magazine in 2000. During this time, she developed specialized expertise in digital entertainment—foreshadowing today’s streaming revolution.

Luxury Hospitality Leadership

Diana’s career path took a defining turn when she joined The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay as Director of Public Relations in 2003. At this AAA Five Diamond golf and spa resort, she was responsible for all internal and external communications, special event creation, and community relations. Her approach drove annual media impressions from 600 million to 1.2 billion in just two years, earning her the Public Relations Leader of the Year award for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s Western Region in 2005.

This experience inspired her to launch Ellipses PR in 2007, where she has since orchestrated strategic communications and marketing for distinguished hospitality clients, including top-tier restaurants, luxury hotels, renowned chefs, and cultural institutions. Her success producing signature events, including San Francisco Cocktail Week (2010 and 2011) and ChefsGiving, a week-long fundraiser for those impacted by 2017’s wine country wildfire, showcases her talent for creating memorable brand experiences that generate both media coverage and revenue.

Before relaunching Ellipses in 2025, Diana helped transform market performance as Director of Marketing at Signia by Hilton San Jose, where she orchestrated comprehensive marketing strategies for the 541-room property. Her innovative approach to positioning the new Signia brand in the competitive Downtown San Jose market delivered exceptional results. The property consistently exceeded fair market share targets and significantly increased both room bookings and food & beverage revenue across restaurant and banquet operations year-over-year.

Beyond the Office

When not crafting compelling narratives for clients, Diana applies her creative energy as a professional voice actor specializing in corporate narration and commercials.

Diana is also the founder of PR Divas, a highly connected network of PR, marketing and communications professionals. She holds a B.A. in Communication from Lewis & Clark College, where she received the Barbara Hirschi Neely Scholarship, the college’s highest merit award.
